-- The Designers --

Philissa Williams of Thembe Fashions is a self-taught clothing designer, personal shopper and stylist who has been designing for over 10 years. She started out by reconstructing her own clothing until other people began asking for her pieces. Inspired by patterns, shapes, colors, people, art and travel, she uses unexpected textures and patterns to accentuate the silhouette. Her designs are high casual everyday couture pieces that are versatile and work with many different styles.

Deidree Bennett of Mishi is a self-taught artist, curator, and jewelry designer. She was recently a featured jewelry artist at The Temporium pop up boutique sponsored by the DCCAH, and juried into the Columbia Festival of the Arts for the second year in a row. Unique artisan jewelry designs utilizing sterling silver and gemstones are her specialty. Her recycled vinyl record and recycled sterling silver jewelry designs are currently available in the retail shop at Vis Arts in Rockville, MD. She is consistently inspired by the beauty found in natural forms.
